Holmesglen Institute of TAFE is a large government institution located across three campuses in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It is one of Australia's leading polytechnics and is committed to the provision of high quality education. The Institute's main campus in Chadstone is situated right beside the Holmesglen railway station and is 25 minutes from the city centre. It is close to parks, gardens, restaurants, shopping centres and a wide range of sporting and recreational facilities. The second campus is located in the leafy suburb of Glen Waverley, about 10 minutes walk from the Glen Waverley station and about 30 minutes by train from the city centre. The campus is well served by bus routes and is located about 5 km from the Chadstone campus.
The Moorabbin campus is located 16 km south of the city in the bayside suburb of Moorabbin. The campus is minutes away from some of Melbourne's most popular bayside beaches, close to shopping centres, parks and gardents. The campus can be accessed by bus or from the Moorabbin railway station.
In 2007 there were over 50,000 students enrolled at Holmesglen in over 600 different courses. The Institute has a reputation as an innovative and dynamic educational institution that maintains the highest standards of instruction and provides a complete student support system, using the latest developments in instructional technology and pastoral care.
Awards granted by Holmesglen Institute of TAFE are accredited by the Victorian Government through the Office of Training and Further Education and are recognized throughout Australia. Awards are granted at Certificate, Diploma, Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree and Graduate Certificate levels. The Institute also offers university transfer programs in association with Monash University, Deakin University, Swinburne University of Technology, La Trobe University and Charles Sturt University.
Holmesglen is open seven days a week. This allows students to undertake additional studies at the weekend or to repeat subjects. All Institute facilities are available at the weekend.
